We equip women and the girl child with tools, knowledge, and opportunities to thrive and lead. Members of this platform will also be empowered by enjoying some certain amount of loans to run their small
scale businesses.
We are equally committed to supporting less privileged and vulnerable children in our communities through education and other impactful initiatives.

Dr. Annette Mubarak PfD, FCE, SDE
Founder & President, Women in Economics and Development Foundation (PWEDF)
She is a distinguished hotelier, business consultant. and visionary leader with over 27 years of experience in the hospitality and allied industries. She is widely respected for her excellence in operations, strategic leadership, and unwavering commitment to service and economic empowerment.
A graduate of Political Science, Dr. Mubarak further advanced her academic and professional capacity with a master's degree in international relations, a Diploma in Computer Science from Durben Polytechnic, Abuja, and a Certificate ín Hotel Operations from Alison University. She has also completed the renowned leadership program, The 5 Choices to Extraordinary Productivity, equipping her with advanced tools for high-level performance and organizational effectiveness.
Her professional journey began with Hilton International at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Abuja, where she rose through the ranks. earning recognition for her diligence, integrity, and results-driven approach. Over the years, she has distinguished herself as a leader who consistently delivers value, drives growth, and inspires excellence.
Dr. Mubarak currently serves as the Vice President of the Institute of Professional Economists and Policy Management (IPEPM). where she also holds an Honorary Doctorate in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the hospitality sector and economic development. She is the CEO of KF&H Business Consult and Managing Director of Kafabran Global Concept, through which she promotes entrepreneurship, job creation, and sustainable business practices.
Passionate about women's advancement, she is the Founder and President of the Women in Economics and Development Foundation (PWEDF), a platform dedicated to empowering women and girls through leadership development, entrepreneurship, and economic education. Her guiding philosophy, every woman is an economist." reflects her belief in the inherent ability of women to manage resources, create value. and contribute meaningfully to national development.
In recognition of her professionalism and impact, Dr. Mubarak has received several prestigious awards, including the Inspire Her International Conference Awards, Leadership Award bv PWEDF. Humanitarian Award by Wake-Up Nigeria Initiative and Manager of the Year Award from Transcorp Hilton.
Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively involved in numerous organizations, including Women of Divine Destiny Initiative (WODDI), Abuja Moms Empowerment Foundation, Country Associate Network Women (CANET), Concerned Sisters Forum, Women 4 Women FCT, PANDEF FCT Chapter, and Harbingers of Change for Good Governance. She also serves as the Woman Leader of the Wake-Up Nigeria Initiative and contributes to national service as a Special Marshal with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC).
In a field traditionally dominated by men, Dr. Annette Mubarak continues to break barriers, inspire change, and redefine leadership. Her work remains a powerful force in advancing hospitality excellence, economic inclusion, and women's empowerment across Nigeria and beyond.

Dr. Esther Nkem Okereke is a visionary, dynamic leader and passionate advocate for women’s empowerment, whose impact continues to inspire transformation across communities. As the Vice President and Executive Director of the Women in Economics and Development Foundation (PWEDF), she has introduced innovative and impactful initiatives that continue to strengthen the Foundation’s mission.
With a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to development, Dr. Okereke strongly believes that every woman is an economist—capable of thriving, leading, and excelling across all sectors, including those traditionally dominated by men. Her leadership embodies excellence, resilience, and a deep dedication to sustainable development.
Dr. Okereke is a distinguished entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Nollywood actress with a diverse and thriving portfolio. She is the President of RavKam Group of Companies and the Founder/CEO of Kamdera Group of Companies, overseeing a conglomerate with interests in construction, real estate, investment, hospitality, finance, sports, and entertainment.

Dr. Okereke also plays key leadership roles across various institutions. She is an Executive Director at MIA Microfinance Bank and serves as the Ground Matron of Miyetti Allah Fulaku Yeso Yeso Development Association (Inna Fulaku). She is a respected member of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN).
Widely recognized as a humanitarian and advocate for the vulnerable, she is fondly referred to as the Mother of Orphans and First Lady of Widows Relief, reflecting her deep compassion and commitment to social impact.

He is a distinguished Development Economist and International Development Consultant with an extensive career spanning the United Kingdom and global advisory engagements.
He has served in high-level advisory and leadership roles, including as a London Enterprise Ambassador, contributing to strategic boards and government initiatives under UK administrations led by Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, and Ken Livingstone. His UK public service experience also includes directorship roles at the HM Home Office CDF, London Food Board, and Business Link for London.
On the international stage, Prof. Ife served as the UK Government DfID Trade Adviser to the Federal Government of Nigeria (2011–2012) and is currently a Member of the Presidential Governing Council of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI).
He is a leading figure in Nigeria’s economic transformation initiatives, currently driving Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concessions in the cassava-bioethanol and methanol value chains, while serving as Lead Consultant to the ECOWAS Commission on Industry & Private Sector Development since 2008. He also advises the Central Bank of Nigeria on macroeconomic policy advocacy and communications strategy.
Academically, Prof. Ife has contributed as a Visiting Professor, including at the Nigerian Defence Academy, and has played key roles in national policy formulation as National Coordinator (TWG) for Digital Economy, Bio-Economy, Science, Technology, and Innovation within Nigeria’s National Development Plan (2021–2025) and Agenda 2050.
His consulting portfolio spans major international and multilateral institutions, including the World Bank, African Development Bank, United Nations Development Programme, and the European Union, among others.

The President of the Women in Economics and Development Foundation (PWEDF), Dr. Annette Mubarak, accompanied by some PWEDF members, paid a condolence visit to the daughter and family of our dearly departed member, Late Mrs. Lola Nafisat.
During the visit, heartfelt sympathies were conveyed, and prayers were offered to Almighty Allah to forgive her shortcomings, grant her Aljanah Firdaus, and bestow strength and comfort upon her family during this difficult time.
We sincerely appreciate all members who joined in this act of love and solidarity. May we continue to support one another.
May the soul of Late Late Mrs. Lola Nafisat rest in peace. May Allah grant her Aljanatu firdausi and forgive all her shortcomings Ameen.
